Studies show that pets can
greatly enhance the quality of our lives. To many of us, pets are both our
friends and valued members of our families. |
|
Today, as a result of better
veterinary care and improved nutrition during our pets "early"
years, they are living longer than ever. However, they, like we, face many
health problems related to the aging process. The immune response, which
is the ability to fight infectious disease and cancer, decrease with age.
Certain diseases such as arthritis, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease
occur with increased frequency. Visual loss due to cataracts and
retinal degeneration can increase as well. Mental disorder, cognitive
dysfunction syndrome, can emerge. Nutrition, particularly vitamins and
minerals, can influence both the age at which these disorders are obvious
as well as their rate of progression. |
|
Unfortunately, there has
been very little research on the influence of nutrition on age-related
health problems in pets. The good news is that there is a massive amount
of research in humans and laboratory animals on this subject. This
information was used in designing an appropriate line of supplements for
our pets: Pet Renewal® |
